A. K. M. Rakib is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Maryland, College Park (Fall 2025 cohort). He completed his B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the Islamic University of Technology (IUT), Bangladesh, in 2023 with a CGPA of 3.98/4.00, ranking 2nd out of 130 students. His research interests include integrated photonics, plasmonics, nanophotonics, optical communication, and optical sensing. To date, he has authored 11 publications (10 peer-reviewed journal papers, including 7 in Q1 journals such as Optics Express, Results in Physics, and RSC Advances, and 1 conference paper), and has collaborated with research groups at USC, the University of Michigan–Ann Arbor, UNSW, and UTS. He also serves as a reviewer for several leading optics journals. Prior to starting his Ph.D., Rakib was a Lecturer in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at IUT, where he supervised undergraduate research and contributed to curriculum development.
