Electrical Machine Lab

Electrical Machine Lab
Lab-in-charge: Prof. Dr. Ashik Ahmed
Location: Southern workshop (East side)
Electrical Machines Lab provides facilities for hands-on experimentation, demonstration, and research related to electrical machines, power systems, and electromechanical energy conversion. The laboratory is equipped with different types of DC machines, transformers, induction motors, synchronous machines, alternators, motor-generator sets, and associated control and measurement units. Students perform experiments on machine characteristics, efficiency, speed control, load testing, transformer operation, motor starting methods, and power measurement. The lab also includes various meters, loading arrangements, rheostats, power supplies, and protection devices required for sessional courses and practical demonstrations. Overall, this laboratory helps students develop a clear understanding of the operating principles, performance, and applications of electrical machines in real-world power and industrial systems.
