Huawei seeds for the future 2021: Students of EEE selected
Seeds for the Future is Huawei's flagship global CSR program. The program was launched in 2008. This program aims to develop skilled, local ICT talent and bridge communication between countries and cultures. By sharing Huawei's ICT expertise and experiences in the global business environment, young people from different countries can learn about advanced technologies in the ICT industry and accumulate ICT expertise and skills through the Seeds for the Future program, contributing to the progress of the global ICT industry. The initiative has benefited 8,774 leading talents in 130 countries and regions through partnerships with 500+ top universities.

Huawei Technologies (Bangladesh) Limited launched ‘Seeds for the Future 2021 Bangladesh’ through a virtual event on 13 September 2021.
Minister of State for Information and Communication Technology Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak graced the inauguration ceremony as the chief guest. Dr Md Rafiqul Islam Sheikh, Vice-chancellor, Rajshahi Universiry of Engineering and Technology; Dr Muhammad Fazli Ilahi, Vice-chancellor, Ahsanullah Universiry of Engineering and Technology; George Lin, President, Enterprise Business Group, Huawei Technologies (Bangladesh) Limited also joined the event with other high officials. Prof. Dr. Md. Ruhul Amin, head of the EEE department of Islamic University of Technology (IUT) joined the program as a distinguished guest.
Huwaei arranged the selection exam of the IUT students for the Seeds for the Future program on 30th September 2021. Twenty students were shortlisted from a pool of 77 applicants in their third and fourth years. Two applicants, Mr. A. K. M. Rakib and Ms. Ramisha Raida Karim, were selected following a rigorous viva conducted by Huawei personnel and Dr. Rakibul Hasan Sagor, Associate Professor, EEE, IUT.
Previously, students were transported to China; however, due to the COVID-19 crisis, this has been switched to a virtual platform. Prof. Dr. Md. Ruhul Amin, head of the EEE department, is the program's supervisor in IUT. The project is being coordinated by Dr. Rakibul Hasan Sagor, Associate Professor of EEE department. Mr. Asif Newaz, Lecturer of EEE department, is acting as the advisor.
